North Carolina Volunteer Awards

Nomination Process

• Each county in the state has a designated person who serves as the local County Coordinator for the Volunteer Awards.
  
  
• In the Spring of the year, the County Coordinator issues a local press release/news articles soliciting nominations.
  
  
• Any individual, group or business from the public, non-profit and private sector may be nominated.
  
  
• All nominations are submitted to the local County Coordinator.
  
  
• A local selection committee reviews and ranks all nominations.
  
  
• The committee forwards the highest ranked nominations to the Governor's Office.
  
  
• The Governor's Office concurs with recommendations of County Coordinator.
