Volunteer Awards

Nomination Process

  • Many counties in the state has a designated person who serves as the local County Coordinator for the Volunteer Awards.
  • If your county does NOT have a Coordinator listed, and you would like to either volunteer for the role or have more questions, please email here.
  • In the Spring of each year, the County Coordinator issues a local press release/news articles soliciting nominations.
  • Any individual, group or business from the public, non-profit and private sector may be nominated.
  • All nominations are submitted to the local County Coordinator.
  • A local selection committee reviews and ranks all nominations.
  • The committee forwards the five highest ranked nominations to the Commission.
  • The Commission concurs with recommendations of the County Coordinator.
